Some of the techniques and interventions you can expect come from the following therapy approaches: Client-Centered Talk Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Positive Psychology. In the sessions, you will often identify, explore and process your thoughts, feelings, beliefs and actions. When you begin the process of counseling, there is an opportunity created for healing. You are your most important person. Counseling can be a safe place to become more comfortable with your life journey. Taking this first step is the next right thing to do.

I have worked extensively with diversified populations ranging from ages 5 to 85 amongst various ethnicities, racial and cultural demographics.  In practice, I work to support individuals, couples and families using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy from a systemic approach. I hold vital to the core belief of client-centered practices and believe that counseling is a collaborative effort.

Sabrina Blake, M.Ed., Ed.S., RMFTI

Therapist

I became a therapist to help people have more good days than bad days, by helping them explore what that looks like for them. While therapy can be a difficult process, because talking about feelings is hard and quite frankly sometimes annoying, I work to create a therapy experience that is enjoyable and enlightening.

Who says you can’t have a pleasant time while you learn about yourself? When I’m not working, I love cheering on the Jaguars (yes, I survived the dark ages), watching people randomly sing and dance in musicals, and anything else that gives me a chance to enjoy life as much as possible.

Types of therapy utilized include narrative therapy techniques, play therapy techniques, trauma-informed, CBT techniques, and motivational interviewing. Types of issues include anger management for youth, life transitions, stress and/or chronic stress, youth trying to manage ADHD, depression, self-esteem/self-image/self-worth, trauma, self-harm, and anxiety. I primarily work with youth ages 5-17, young adults, adults, and families.
